Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me.

Sadly I will be alone for this one. Matt had to do a concert he didn't want to do, so I will be live tweeting (humonlazydiva) my impression of the whole shebang.

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

When I saw all the fabulous pieces that were entered in the Valentine Day challenge, my first thought was, "I am so glad that I don't have to choose!" Well I guess I jinxed myself on that one. We ended up with a three-way tie between First Valentine by *AureliusCat, My Fragile Heart by *GeaAusten, and Love Torch by *MeaganEmerson. So I ended up having to make a tie-breaking vote. Talk about a hard decision.

Congratulations to Gea, who will become Artist of the Month for March!
She has been a member of deviantART for over 4 years now and has a wonderful gallery of fractals and photography. She has been working with Incendia for well over a year and a half.

We will be displaying her Incendia work in the March Artist of the Month folder in the favorites starting on March 1st. I will also submit a news story around the middle of March featuring a sampling from all of Gea's varied works.

I am still looking for suggestions for our next challenge whick won't start until after March 8th. Leave a comment or send a note if you have any ideas!!

Thankyou so so much, I am so thrilled I can't begin to tell you.. I love Incendia ,
with a passion,
its been a real challenge for me ... I started off admiring Aexions 'unique' work, when I asked him which program he used , and he said his own ,
I was so impressed. I knew from that moment on he was a Genius,,
around the same time Joey[Capstoned] recognised the same thing I had , and we tried to encourage Aexion, through a lot of unbelievably hard times ,,
didn't we Joey ?.
the excitement of the release of the first programme had us sitting the edge of our seats, with Aexion running between borrowed computers !!!
I truly believe Incendia is a magical program , it is unique, and seems to respond differently to each indiviual user ..
